PLAN, POLICY OR REPORT PREPARATION

Melting Pot Planning can assist you with the preparation of the following plans that are now a requirement of NSW Legisation :

Local Strategic Planning Statements (LSPS) The requirement to prepare a Local Strategic Planning Statement was introduced with the changes to the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act in 2018. These statements will clearly outline the 20-year vision for land-use in the local area, including the special character and values that are to be preserved, and how change will be managed into the future. Local Strategic Planning Statements must be prepared by non-metro (Regional) NSW Councils by July 2020. We will work alongside your staff and your community to deliver robust, farsighted Plans that will guide land use and investment over the next decade or two.

Crown Lands Plans of Management (POM) Crown Lands Plans of Management are generally focussed on the sustainable management of public lands and are required for the development, lease or licensing of land classified as “community land” under the Local Government Act 1993. As of July, 2018, NSW legislation required Councils to prepare Plans of Management for Crown Lands under their control by June 2021.

Community Participation Plans (CPP) Community Participation Plans are intended to make it easier for community members to understand how they can play a role in planning decisions. They also set the rules of community engagement for planning authorities. Decision-makers will be required to give public justification for planning decisions to help community members to see how their views have been considered, and to improve accountability to stakeholders. These plans must be prepared by all NSW Councils by December 1st 2019.
